US Interstate Van Lines

A long post, but I guarantee your experience will be the same as mine. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

On October 12th 2022, I contacted US Interstate Van Lines. During the conversation with an employee name Christian, I was asked to give an inventory of items for an estimate. Before listing, I asked Christian "How specific does this need to be? Like, do I need to mention stuff like my trash can?" To which Christian responded "No, just the big obvious stuff." Based on this comment, I mentioned things like my bed, terrarium, aquarium, and desks. Once I was given an estimate for $3502, I asked Christian "Is packing included with that price?" Christian responded "Yes, you won't have to lift a finger. Here's what will happen: the company will come that morning, lay out a sheet of plastic to protect your floors, and they will remove and pack every item in your house". Had I not received that answer, I would not have made any agreements with this company. In order to lock in the service, I paid the deductible of $1200. The other half was to be made after the move.

Fast forward to November 18th (three days before my move). I receive a call from a woman named Mandy. She informs me that I need to complete another inventory, this time far more detailed than Christian had initially made it seem. We go through my list of items. Through her, I discover that I also needed to mention objects such as my boxspring/bed frame (which, I feel, should have been assumed when I mentioned my bed), a tower fan, and even my trash can (which I had already specifically asked Christian about). Due to these extra items, I would have to add an additional $800 to my initial estimate. Reluctantly, I agreed. In order to afford this, I needed to borrow money from my mother.

Three days later, on moving day, the movers arrive three hours late. As soon as they walk in, they begin inventorying my items. During this, they claim that I have items that are not on their list. Items that I had not only mentioned to Mandy, but also gave measurements for. This, I am informed, will cause the price to increase once again. After this I am told that they will not be packing my items, as I had only paid for 30 boxes and not a "full pack". As a result, my total price for the move was now over $6000. I believe the precise number was $6500, however, I do not remember for sure.

It is my belief that US Interstate Van Lines consciously lied to me in order to influence my decision to hire them. I believe they purposely misled me in the beginning with the intent of tacking extra fees on later, at a time so close to moving day that I would feel pressured to comply. This company relies on confusion, manipulation, and desperation to make their money and they've been allowed to to it because, technically, they will take your items from point A to point B.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $6500

I would NOT recommend this company for a family household move or for moving anything. They are very unorganized and seem clueless. Aside from sending out a smaller truck than I actually paid for, they didn't wrap all of my furniture in the blankets provided. My furniture, some of it antique, has been damaged. If not outright destroyed. My desk has a leg snapped off. A bookcase was demolished. I mentioned they're unorganized...half of my stuff still hasn't arrived and they don't know where it is. They won't call me back with updates. We're two weeks into wondering where our stuff is. We have the top to our kitchen table, but no legs, half of a corner desk, etc. It's beyond frustrating. Do not use US Interstate Van Lines. You'll be sorry. I am.

Me and my husband decided to take a leap of faith and move to Michigan after thinking about it for a few years. After speaking with a few different companies and some research we came across Us Interstate and decided to just go for it. Their professionalism and knowledge sold us and not one regret we have! The movers showed up at my door and instantly got to work. Everything was nicely packed and loaded on to their truck. A few days later all of our items arrived intact! Thank you Jacob for all of your hard work and for taking the time to explain how the industry works! We cannot be happier with the outcome.

Move size: 4 Bedroom Home Service cost: $8200

I had been in contact with Brian to book my move, but I was committed to obtaining many quotes so that I can compare the quotes (mostly wanting to read the fine print of each company) and then research my top choices. Brian called me a moron via text and to "use [my] brain" because the prices were all going to be similar and I was guaranteed to get scammed if I went elsewhere. Who knew that quote comparisons and researching companies could lead to getting scammed???!!!

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: $6850

Interstate moved me in august 2021.. The workers seemed very nice. However, I was disappointed when I got my things. Several items were missing or damaged. Filed a claim and they only accepted two with no explanation. Spent thousands of dollars to make my home comfortable for my family to have it damaged by interstate van lines.. NEVER use this company.. They will not take responsibility for what they do and do not care about you. I am very disappointed and I will continue to call and complain until someone pays me for my broken and missing items..

Incredible moving experience from WV to AZ. Mr Lee was the driver for the entire move. Oskar and Rigo were incredible on the loading end. They had two flight of stairs to deal with as the packed, moved and loaded 6,020 lbs of goods. We had packed 93 items and they took care of the other 80 items. Rigo packed most of the glass and fragile items. Did I tell you they were amazing?! They did not disappoint on the unloading portion either. His incredible work ethic and customer service continued as Mario and Andre unloaded and moved our 6,020 lbs in our new to us home. They were efficient and careful. I am not sure if any of them could have done a better job. Michael was great with the survey and initial contact. Charlene took over on setting up the move. Incredible logistics and customer service throughout. Thanks to all for making our move as stress free as possible. We would definitely recommend this company to others.

US interstate movers exceeded my expectations in more ways than one!

First off their customer service is top notch and their staff is friendly and easy to work with. They went above and beyond making my relocation easier than I could have ever imagined. I was nervous at first because I had never used a moving company and have acquired some pretty nice furniture the past few years and didn’t want it damaged. NOTHING was damaged and they treated my furniture like it was their own!

Overall my experience was great, I would recommend this company to anyone looking to get things moved within a tight time frame and hassle free, I had everything delivered on time and it made my transition easy as pie. Thanks again guys!

Horrible experience. On pick up day, no one came. I called numerous times the next day, and no one would return my call to give me a pick up day/time. I called for Jacob Baker, Operation Manager, and he told the man that took the call he would call me back in an hour. He never did. When I finally received a call back, I was told the original truck had issues, so my belongings, that I was told would be delivered in 3-5 business days, were taken to a warehouse and stored. Two weeks later, I get a call at 9:30pm stating the truck would be there the next day 10-2. I let him know I couldn't be there until 4:00pm because of the short notice. The truck showed up with only a driver. The driver asked for the remainder of the money, and I told him not until you get help, because you can't possibly unload a full house of furniture by yourself. He called his manager, Manny, who attempted to explain that I needed to pay first. I said I will pay on delivery, and your driver is unable to deliver. Manny said he would have someone here soon. He did.... Via a craigslist ad. My entertainment center is broken beyond repair, and the driver told me to get some wood glue. Carved wooden side table, broken. Box of glassware, broken. This company does not use professional movers. Both pick up and delivery were with rental trucks.

Biggest scam ever around price and delivery dates. Stay away from them at all costs. Their estimate was okay and fair but the contractor doing the moving on their behalf came into our apartment and told us we have to pay double because the estimate amount isn’t enough money for the distance. They charged us for 550 cf instead of the actual load of 411 cf has stacked, packed and measured by their contractor. They picked up our stuff on Oct 9 and promised a delivery from Seattle to Miami within 20 business days and today is Dec 6 and they are unable to provide a delivery date. On Nov 1 they told us our stuff hadn’t left Seattle but it would arrive the week of Nov 22. On Nov 26 they said it would be by Dec 1. On Dec 1 they told us the truck broke down and they don’t know. The agent we were talking to was Amanda. On Dec 6 they tell us there isn’t an Amanda working in their office and it should arrive on Dec 8 based on notes but they don’t know if that date will hold true.

What a horrible experience. Do not use this company. Mislead by US interstate Vanlines at booking. Quoted a price and paid 50% at booking then a month later when movers showed up

that they contracted the job out to. The moving company gets off truck ( J&B relocation) and instantly wants more money. Was put in an on the spot situation where I had to pay $2,600 more than was quoted or lose my $2,400 I had paid at booking.

They load up my belongings then call me that they don’t want to deliver my stuff unless I give them more money. Finally after living in an empty apartment for 2 weeks my stuff arrived

at the moving companies convenience. It’s stressful enough moving to another state but when a professional moving company plays games at the expense of the consumer they should not be trusted with your personal belongings.

I would not recommend this company to anyone. I had to put at least 1 star but they real earned ZERO stars

This company is total FRAUD, in August 2021 I called US interstate to move my stuff to Texas, they didn’t show up on the agreed date. They showed up the following day. Apparently, they don’t own the Truck that was sent, that’s another third party which I was unaware of. The third party refused service. So I had no choice but to sell my stuff in California for cheap and I came to Texas to start buying everything brand new.

I had made a $900 down payment and I called my credit company to refund me back my money, US interstate instead sent Fraudulent documents to them and now DISCOVER my credit company is now siding with this fraudulent company without doing their own due diligence. I had just lost my mum last year, I had to send money back home for my mums burial, this is not a good time for me. All I want is my money back and nothing else because these guys never Performed ANY SERVICE

This company is a SCAM. They are not movers so they quote you whatever you want to steal your "nonrefundable" deposit. I received a quote from them for 1405 cuft for 44 items. I later realized that these 44 items would be MUCH more than 1405 cuft (closer to 2300 cuft) and I asked them to "show me your calculations" to get to 1,405 cuft. They refused. Then this coward named [NAME EDIT] called me and said "Nobody stole your money you [EDIT] and then hung up.

Started out by severely under quoting and lying. The sales man lied. Said they were BBB accredited. Lie. Inventory guy called. Spent his time walking me thru adding a cc to venmo but later I wasn’t allowed to pay that way. Or else I’d have disputed the whole thing by now. They lied about not being a broker. They sold my move to felons. They stole and damaged thousands of $. Brian at US interstate saw pictures and told me my items don’t even look that bad. And then called me a liar. Told me I’m committing insurance fraud etc. he’s a coward and a loser. They have scammed so many innocent people. They will block your # eventually. Blocked me from posting on their Facebook. Such a shady business they run. There’s tons of reviews like mine out there. They pay people to write good ones. There’s a growing fb group and an investigation was just opened with the DOT. It’s only a matter of time before they go down lol. They think it’s funny to lie and steal and cheat people out of their money.

They arrived on time wearing clean and appropriate clothes wearing their masks and introduced themselves to my girlfriend and I. They looked at the seven items that were being moved. Andrew directed the other two guys to start wrapping the furniture to prevent any damage, then went over the contract in a clear and understandable way. Then he began working on wrapping the furniture. All three men worked quickly and efficiently with no waste of time. The 200 mile drive was quick. Once at the house they came inside to plan the layout and pointed out any artwork and furniture that needed to be moved to prevent any damage. All three workers were polite not only to us but to each other. Really a good example of teamwork and courtesy. US interstate is worth using!

Thank you to US interstate ! Was my first time moving cross country. And they honestly made the move super easy for me. Considering i have a new born baby was kind of hard for me to everything alone. Went online to search for a reputable company and couldnt have been more happy with the services they provide. Thank you to the whole team of US interstate. From the sales rep i dealt with to the customer service to the quality assurance. Greatly appreciated. Was a bit more than I expected but that was no problem considering they quality was all there ! Thank you and will 100% use you guys for another long distance move !

The team at US Interstate Van Lines in Palm Beach Florida made our move from Florida to California in February 2021 as smooth and well-coordinated as one can imagine for a modern move. First, the team of Brian and Jacob helped us work out all pre move details. How many boxes we might need, what kind of storage space we would need, so forth and son on. Second, the team gave us super accurate estimates on what the costs would be, so yes the price did end up being less. Third, the schedule Interstate had given us was spot on accurate – to the hour. I recommend them without any reservations whatsoever. You will be happy you called them!!

So this is the first time I’m really moving from my entire apartment to a home so I am uprooting my entire life. US Interstate made it easy seamless and away that I was shocked on how well they handled everything we had!

They were upfront and honest from the start, incredibly kind and fast I had the three best guys at my house and they made you feel that way!

This is the first time I’m using a moving company and now they will have a customer for life! If possible, I highly recommend the team that moved us. They need to be sent out on more jobs they are so awesome!

Even though moving is stressful and I didn’t want to move my furniture, I decided to move them with us anyways. So we hired US interstate Van Lines to help us with the move and my main concern was that since the company didn’t come to my home due to Covid, would they be efficient or not. They really were efficient. These guys meant business. Nothing was overlooked by the 4 movers who came to work on such an excellent price. Their movers were extremely professional! Even their vans were quite reasonable priced to hire. I was very impressed to see how all my beloved pieces of furniture were wrapped perfectly and loaded in the vans. They arrived on scheduled time completely unharmed. I am very optimistic about the future of this company and I highly recommend hiring them for your next move!

I am rating US interstate Van Lines at 5 stars as I am convinced it is the best moving company. I booked them to relocate my business of heavy containers last month. Their movers showed up with trucks together with five great guys arrived quite early on time. They did so much more than just the bare minimum. They were throughout friendly and engaging. They were conscientious about their work. They were very eager to see to it that my needs were fully met. Even during the initial booking phases, their manager was very friendly and had all the information required hence completed the booking with one easy call. These guys were exceptionally good movers and my family and I had a great time moving with them. The guys were of great help to us. They helped us pack the remaining items and even offered to offload and unpack at the new place. There are very few movers who would offer such a service and this company are certainly one of them. If anyone ever asks me about movers, I am definitely going to recommend this highly reliable company!
